IRS Launches App to Increase Digital Services for Taxpayers

CEO Bisignano said, “Our goal is to make IRS services easy to access and more consistent across all of our platforms.”

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has announced the launch of its new mobile app, which expands the digital services provided to taxpayers. The new app replaces the IRS’s previous app, IRS2Go. Taxpayers will be able to sign into the new app via a secure sign on and access account information and self-service options including checking refund and amended-return status, viewing available balance information, making payments, reviewing payment activity, and accessing an Identity Protection PIN.

“The new IRS app puts more services at taxpayers’ fingertips,“ IRS Chief Executive Officer Frank Bisignano stated. “It advances our digital-first agenda to meet taxpayers how and where they choose to interact with the IRS, whether at home or on the go. Our goal is to make IRS services easy to access and more consistent across all of our platforms.”

The IRS has stated that it plans to continue expanding the app with other capabilities and services over time.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For CEO Bisignano as he oversees operations at the IRS and also serves as Social Security Administration commissioner.
  • For IRS personnel as they process submissions from taxpayers on extensions.
  • For discernment for Americans who utilize the new IRS app to access important information.
